The Ouroboros

Creation out of destruction/ Life out of Death/ Eternal cycle of renewal

The Ouroboros

The ouroboros is the symbolism of the serpent biting, devouring, or eating its own tail. This symbolizes the cyclic Nature of the Universe: creation out of destruction, Life out of Death. The ouroboros eats its own tail to sustain its life, in an eternal cycle of renewal.

Most people believe the serpent means wisdom or a wise person. In many cultures the snake was feminine. This was not the actual female. This was the feminine side of the mind or the subconscious. The subconscious is where the true wisdom comes from. The Ouroboros is showing you that you create your world. Once you consciously realize what is going on, you can block negativity from entering your mind and or body. This will help get a mind and life that you want and can control. What you think about, you bring about. What is going on outside of a person is going on inside. If you have a cluttered life, you have a cluttered mind. If negative things keep happening to you, you have a negative mindset.

For the alcoholic, with every drink trying to get their life back, temporarily numbing the pain and/or depression – and in turn, ending up even more depressed and sick – it’s the eternal cycle of addiction. The difference of the serpent and addiction is… the serpent finds renewal, life out of death, creation out of destruction and finds a solution.

With the snake being in a circle it is showing a loop emphasizing that our thoughts and actions create our reality. People have the power to control their happiness, their mind, and their life. Take control of yourself and your own life, or addiction will.
